A recent study has found a link between the consumption of ultra-processed foods and an increased risk of several chronic diseases.

According to the study, these diseases include cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and others, as well as a higher risk of early death, Russia Today reported.

The study indicated that each additional 100 grams of these foods consumed daily is associated with a 14% higher risk of a major heart attack, a 4% increase in cancer risk, and a 3% rise in the risk of death from any cause.

Ultra-processed foods commonly include products such as potato chips, biscuits, sweets, breakfast cereals, sliced bread, and ready-made meals.
