China’s BaiSha Gaming secured the CrossFire championship at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Paris, sweeping Team Liquid 3-0 in the grand final to claim the only major title missing from their collection.

The team’s triumph came after a challenging campaign. Entering the tournament as China’s top seed, BaiSha Gaming suffered an early group-stage defeat but regained momentum to advance to the knockout rounds. There, they eliminated reigning champions AG.AL 2-1, then defeated KINGZERO-eSports 3-1 to book their place in the final.

Redemption after a disappointing season

The victory silenced doubts surrounding the team, who had established themselves globally by winning the CrossFire Stars championship in both 2022 and 2023, but stumbled in the 2025 World Cup final against AG.AL and followed with a lackluster performance at CrossFire Stars 2025, leading many to believe their dominance was fading.

‘N9’ completes his legacy, named MVP

Team captain Wang Hao, known as “N9,” was the standout player, having previously stated that the World Cup was the only trophy missing from his career. N9 began his professional journey in 2015, winning his first CrossFire Stars title at age 17 in 2016, and adding further titles in 2017, 2022, and 2023. He is renowned for his exceptional aim, with many considering him the greatest player in the game’s history.

After the win, N9 said: “I’m overjoyed, because we weren’t the favorites and were drawn into a very tough group. We took the hardest path over these three days, but now we’re here and have achieved the sweetest victory.”

N9 was named Sony MVP of the final, earning an additional $25,000. He commented: “I couldn’t have won this award or the trophy without my teammates’ support. It’s a team game, and I simply did what I had to do,” adding, “My teammates elevated each other’s level, and I was just there to guide and lead the team.”

Third place and $210,000 prize

In the third-place match, KINGZERO-eSports defeated Team Stallions 3-0 to secure the podium and a $210,000 prize, capping a strong campaign in which their only loss came against the champions. The tournament also marked the international playoff debut for player Sun Beihi, known as “ice.”
