Iranian officials call Araghchi meeting with US envoy a 'major mistake'

Iranian officials told Tasnim News Agency that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s meeting with Steve Witkof, the US president’s envoy, was a “major mistake” and took place without coordination.

They added that the foreign minister’s engagement with Witkof was not coordinated with the relevant authorities.

Araghchi led the Iranian government delegation that met with a US delegation headed by special envoy Steve Witkof and White House adviser Jared Kushner. The meeting, held at the United Nations, lasted three hours.
