AIYemen’s Presidential Leadership Council has expressed its appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support of military operations carried out by government forces against the Houthi group, stressing that the resilience of these forces in confronting Houthi escalation would not have been possible without the Kingdom’s backing. The council also reiterated its commitment to continue Operation “Fajr Al-Yemen” until its objectives are achieved.
The remarks came during a meeting of the Presidential Leadership Council on Monday, chaired by President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi and attended by all members, to discuss military and security developments, especially the recent Houthi escalation and attacks targeting state institutions and civilian infrastructure.
The council stated that the Houthis continue to besiege the city of Taiz and shell its residential neighborhoods, while expanding attacks on cities and villages, targeting civilian sites in Saudi Arabia, and threatening waterways and international shipping.
The council commended the performance of the armed forces, security services, military formations, and popular resistance in repelling Houthi attacks, saying they have inflicted losses on the group in both personnel and equipment. It affirmed that operations under “Fajr Al-Yemen” will continue to end the coup, restore state institutions, and reestablish government authority across all Yemeni territory.
Addressing residents in areas under Houthi control, the council urged families to protect their children from recruitment and exploitation, and to reject their involvement in military operations. It emphasized that the door remains open for safe return to all who lay down their arms and cease fighting with the group, in accordance with announced procedures.
The council also praised government and community efforts to receive and shelter displaced persons, calling for increased humanitarian aid and the provision of food, water, medicine, and shelter, as well as facilitating access to those in need.
