The Muslim World League has strongly condemned the "E1" settlement plan and all related activities east of occupied Jerusalem.

In a statement issued by its General Secretariat, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, described the plan as dangerous, warning that it threatens the realization of an independent Palestinian state.

The statement reiterated the League's total rejection of all illegal Israeli settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as its opposition to the support and protection of violations and acts of violence committed by settlers against the Palestinian people and their property.

It added that these policies are part of a continued Israeli approach that violates relevant international laws and resolutions and undermines peace efforts.

Call for international action and praise for supportive positions

Al-Issa stressed the need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to immediately halt all acts of violence, violations, settlement policies, and any measures aimed at altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement also praised the positions of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt for their solidarity with the Palestinian people and steadfast support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state in line with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
