Saudi Arabia takes part in high-level 'Overcoming Crises' dialogue in New York

Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, participated in the high-level 'Overcoming Crises' dialogue, organized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Lebanon, the European Union Delegation in Lebanon, and the United Nations Development Programme in Lebanon. The event was attended by Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, along with senior officials, representatives of countries, international organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector.

The dialogue addressed the importance of adopting an integrated approach to crisis management, linking urgent humanitarian response with recovery and development pathways. It emphasized strengthening the resilience of countries and communities, and highlighted the central role of national institutions in leading recovery efforts and directing international support to build their capacities.

Participants discussed ways to enhance partnerships among governments, the United Nations, international financial institutions, and the private sector, as well as the need for flexible and sustainable financing to help countries overcome recurring crises and support the transition from emergency response to recovery and reconstruction without interruption.

The dialogue also showcased Saudi Arabia’s vision for humanitarian and development work as integrated tracks, and reaffirmed its ongoing support for countries and communities affected by crises, to help them move from addressing urgent needs to achieving recovery and sustainable development.

The Kingdom’s support for Lebanon, its stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity was also highlighted, along with efforts to strengthen state institutions, reform, and economic recovery.

During the dialogue, Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to working with partners to transform crisis response into sustainable pathways for development and stability, led by countries themselves and in line with their national priorities, with people at the center of these efforts.
