Saudi weather center urges accuracy in El Niño reporting

The National Center for Meteorology has noted the circulation of inaccurate and exaggerated information regarding its report on the El Niño climate phenomenon, particularly on some news platforms and social media.

The center stated that certain parties have used unscientific terms such as "combustion," which are unrelated to the content of the report, emphasizing the importance of adhering to approved scientific terminology.

It added that its report aims to clarify the stages of formation and development of El Niño according to established climate models, warning that taking statements out of context or publishing inaccurate interpretations could distort the information and raise doubts about the nature and impact of climate phenomena.

The center called on all media outlets and social media users to ensure accuracy, rely on official sources, and convey information without exaggeration or misinterpretation.
