Saudi Ministry recalls Jeep and Peugeot vehicles over safety defects

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Commerce announced today the recall of 391 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles, model years 2024 to 2026, as well as 329 Peugeot vehicles of the 3008 and 5008 models, model year 2026.

In a statement on its X account, the ministry said the Jeep Grand Cherokee recall was due to a fault in the tire pressure monitoring system, which may fail to display warning signals when tire pressure is low, increasing the risk of an accident.

The ministry also explained that the Peugeot recall was prompted by a programming defect in the vehicle control unit, which could cause the interior door handles to malfunction and prevent passengers from exiting the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in certain situations.

The Ministry of Commerce urged owners of affected vehicles to check their vehicle identification number on the Recalls.sa platform and to contact the company for free updates.
