Jeddah municipality steps up preparations ahead of heavy rain forecast

Jeddah Municipality has raised its field preparedness in anticipation of heavy rainfall expected in the city, responding to reports from the National Center for Meteorology. The municipality announced the activation of emergency field plans and the implementation of necessary measures, including deploying teams and equipment and enhancing coordination with relevant authorities.

According to an official statement, the municipality has reinforced 16 support centers across 11 sub-municipalities. Comprehensive maintenance and cleaning of the existing rainwater drainage network have been carried out, and the readiness of pumps, equipment, and personnel has been verified to ensure a swift response if needed.

The municipality confirmed it will continue to closely monitor alerts from the National Center for Meteorology and the Crisis and Disaster Management Center. It is also activating awareness messages through its official channels to ensure the safety of residents and visitors and to support the efforts of relevant authorities throughout the rainfall period.
