Saudi, Russian foreign ministers discuss Yemen escalation and maritime security

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta, United States.

The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia, and discussed key regional developments, notably the escalation in Yemen and ongoing threats to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.

The two sides also discussed efforts to strengthen regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Ambassador to the United States.
