Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority concludes first international summer research initiative

The National Cybersecurity Authority has concluded the first edition of the International Summer Research Initiative in Cybersecurity, which aims to empower promising research talent in priority areas of cybersecurity. The initiative also seeks to develop advanced research and innovation skills in the field, enhance cybersecurity knowledge to keep pace with global developments, and open new horizons for pioneering research and innovation in cybersecurity. The program included the participation of male and female students specializing in cybersecurity-related fields.

Held over 10 weeks in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, the initiative featured several promising research projects focused on cybersecurity in artificial intelligence, current and future technological developments in the field, and other research topics. The program also included weekly mentoring sessions and specialized workshops, supervised by a group of researchers and experts from the Carnegie Mellon University faculty.

The International Summer Research Initiative in Cybersecurity is part of the National Program for Research, Development, and Innovation in Cybersecurity, and aligns with the Authority’s strategic initiatives to develop the cybersecurity sector at the national level. The initiative offers opportunities to join summer research programs at leading global universities specializing in cybersecurity and to participate in the development of research and innovation projects in the field.
