Super Blue Moon Lights Saudi Arabia’s Night Sky

The full moon of Safar, the second month in the Islamic calendar, lit the sky above Saudi Arabia. Its glow was captured by the lens of the Saudi Press Agency.

The full moon is the third super one for this year and the second during August, known as the Blue Moon.

Jeddah Astronomy Society stated that most of the months feature only one full moon, while August witnesses two.

The second full moon is called the Blue Moon which occurs on average once every two-and-a-half years when the moon is in full moon phase during the first hours of the month.

The super blue moon rises from the southeastern horizon at sunset until the sunrise of the next day.
