Saudi Craftswomen Shine at Saudi International Handicrafts Week

The latest edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan), organized by the Heritage Commission, showcases the meeting of heritage and modernity and highlights the vital role of skilled women artisans, who, according to the Abde'a platform, are expected to make up over three-quarters of the 5,025 Saudi artisans by 2025, with Riyadh leading with 995 artisans.

At Banan, crafts developed by women, including Sadu weaving and palm-based crafts, have transformed from traditional domestic tasks into significant sources of income and economic empowerment.

Each craftswoman has the opportunity to showcase her work to new audiences, turning every interaction into a step in her professional journey.

This exhibition clearly illustrates the prominent role of women in the handicrafts industry, emphasizing their innovation and leadership.

Banan not only celebrates heritage but also provides craftswomen with the chance to connect with potential buyers and new opportunities, blending the past with a vision for the future.
