Eastern Province Development Authority launches socioeconomic survey

The Eastern Province Development Authority has announced the launch of a socioeconomic survey covering all governorates in the Eastern Province during September. The initiative is part of the third cycle of the Urban Observatory, aimed at measuring urban indicators and assessing development and living conditions in the region.

The survey seeks to collect social and economic statistical data through a set of questions directed at the head of each household or an adult family member. The goal is to provide accurate information to better understand the challenges facing the community, supporting decision-makers in developing plans and programs based on reliable data to improve services and promote economic growth.

Abdullah bin Misfer Al-Qahtani, Executive Vice President for Planning and Urban Development at the Eastern Province Development Authority, stated: "The survey plan included training more than 60 male and female researchers to ensure high accuracy and efficiency in data collection across 13 governorates: Dammam, Khobar, Jubail, Qatif, Al-Ahsa, Hafar Al-Batin, Qaryat Al-Ulya, Khafji, Al-Bayda, Al-Adayid, Buqayq, Nairyah, and Ras Tanura. The survey aims to collect 14,000 forms from families in the region, enhancing the accuracy of information and providing a comprehensive database to support strategic planning and sustainable development in the Eastern Province."
