Saudi Arabia Gifts 50 Tons of Dates to Sri Lanka

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday delivered a Saudi gift of 50 tons of dates to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, to be distributed to Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH.

Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani handed over the aid to Sri Lanka's Minister of Religious Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi at the Saudi Embassy in Colombo, attended by several high-ranking officials.

Ambassador Al-Qahtani emphasized that the dates distribution program is supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, reflecting the profound humanitarian and cultural values of the Kingdom. He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening ties with brotherly and friendly countries through KSrelief, which plays a crucial role in supporting humanitarian efforts and promoting solidarity and charitable values.

In response, Senevi expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s assistance provided to his country.

This gift of dates is part of the Kingdom's humanitarian initiatives carried out through KSrelief to support brotherly and friendly nations in various fields.
