The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque gives special attention to the rugs of the Prophet’s Mosque, where over 25,000 are laid, with more than 14,000 in courtyards, 6,150 in corridors, and 5,500 on the roof.
The rugs used in the Prophet’s Mosque are distinguished by their 16-millimeter thickness, a weave density of 575,000 knots per square meter, and high-quality craftsmanship and color durability.
Each rug is equipped with an RFID electronic chip that enables the tracking of its data, location, manufacturing date, washing schedule, and movement within the mosque and its courtyards, which contributes to enhanced operational efficiency and improved quality of services.
These integrated efforts reflect the authority’s commitment to providing a safe and spiritually enriching environment for worshippers and visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque.
