Longest Cave in the Kingdom to Become New Geological Tourist Destination

Spokesperson for the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) Tariq Abaalkhail said that SGS documented a new geological tourist destination in the volcanic field of Harrat Khaybar, in the northeastern part of Madinah.

"A specialized geological team from SGS has documented the Kingdom's longest basalt cave, with a length of around five kilometers, which will be nominated as a tourist destination after technical studies are completed. The cave was named Abu Al-Wool after the large number of ibex skeletons found in it," he said.

Abaalkhail said this cave is a "tourist wealth" that will also provide wider scopes for researchers and academics in this field.
