The Buraidah Dates Carnival has launched a pioneering initiative under the title “Dates Diplomacy,” the first global diplomatic program in the field of dates, aimed at boosting international cooperation and highlighting Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting the palm and dates sector, originating from Qassim Region.
The program seeks to introduce ambassadors and diplomatic missions to the carnival’s activities, including its economic, cultural, and heritage events related to dates, while also fostering stronger ties among member states of the International Date Council.
It serves to promote dates as a bridge for civilizational exchange and a foundation for cultural and economic cooperation between peoples.
The initiative is carried out with the participation of Qassim Principality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Center for Palms and Dates, and the Buraidah Dates Carnival, alongside the attendance of ambassadors from International Date Council member countries.
The program includes field visits, the signing of guest books, and the exchange of gifts made from Saudi date products, reflecting the Kingdom’s leading role in this vital agricultural sector and enhancing the global presence of Saudi dates as an economic, cultural, and diplomatic symbol.
