The Arab Parliament condemned Argentine President Javier Milei's announcement that he will relocate his country's embassy in the "Israeli occupation entity" to Jerusalem.

In a statement Wednesday, the pan-Arab legislature rejected the announcement, saying the move constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions and an assault on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Cairo-based Arab Parliament also underscored that such a measure would undermine the two-state solution and would encourage the occupation and the extremist settlers to continue with their attacks against the Palestinian people and the holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

The parliament also called on the Argentine president to reverse his decision and to follow suit of the position of the South American countries which support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in establishing an independent state of their own with Jerusalem as its capital.
