
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi met Wednesday with People's Bank of China (PBOC) Governor Dr. Pan Gongsheng on the sidelines of the 2025 annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington.
During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation between the GCC member states and China, as well as ways to strengthen financial and banking relations between the two sides in support of financial stability and the expansion of Gulf–Chinese cooperation.
The GCC secretary-general affirmed the GCC states’ keenness to strengthen their economic and financial partnership with China in a way that supports global economic stability, promotes sustainable development, facilitates the exchange of expertise, and enhances coordination on issues of mutual interest.
