Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi participated yesterday in the celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI) in Kuwait City, attended by several ministers and officials.

At the outset of his address, Albudaiwi extended his thanks and appreciation to Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the generous care and continuous support provided by Kuwait in hosting and supporting the GCC headquarters and its institutions, reflecting a firm and longstanding commitment to advancing joint Gulf action.

He said that the GCCJPPI has not been merely a media production entity, but a pioneering Gulf institution that employs media as an effective tool for education, awareness-building, strengthening Gulf identity, and fostering unity and integration among the peoples of the GCC states.

He emphasized the vital role of media in supporting development and keeping pace with rapid transformations through responsible and purposeful content.

Albudaiwi noted that since its establishment, the institution has served as a distinguished media platform, reinforcing Gulf identity, promoting shared values, and conveying an authentic image of Gulf society to successive generations through high-quality programs that resonate with citizens at various stages of life.

He concluded by thanking the GCCJPPI's founding pioneers and all those who have served in its management and workforce, whose efforts have contributed to building and reinforcing this Gulf media edifice, preserving its mission, and developing its tools, ensuring it remains a model for joint media cooperation.

He also expressed his aspiration for a brighter future for the institution and GCC-affiliated media entities, so they can continue their pioneering role, enhance their media presence, and support the aspirations of GCC countries and their peoples amid global developments that demand conscious and influential media.
