GCC Secretary General Condemns Announced Intentions of Israel Regarding Invasion of Rafah City

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi has expressed his condemnation and strong rejection of Israel's declared intentions to invade the city of Rafah after forcibly displacing its civilian population.

He stated that this Israeli criminal act or contemplation thereof threatens to escalate violence, destabilise the region's security and stability, and lead to further deterioration and suffering for the Palestinian people. It constitutes a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian conventions that protect the rights and sovereignty of nations, he stressed.

Moreover, he called upon the international community, during these challenging times, to work collectively and in solidarity, confronting these Israeli plans with a spirit of unity and shared responsibility.

'This should reflect a deep commitment to the principles of peace, justice, and human dignity, and a clear and unified rejection of such actions,' he pointed out, 'reaffirming our joint commitment to regional and international justice and peace.'

Simultaneously, he emphasized the steadfast commitment of the GCC countries to support the Palestinian cause and defend the rights of the Palestinian people.

He highlighted joint efforts with international partners to ensure the return of rights to their rightful owners and achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
