A professor and consultant of nephrology at Al-Moasasah University, Dr. Saad Al-Shaheeb, has warned about the dangers of excessive red meat consumption, explaining that it increases the risk of end-stage kidney failure by 40 percent among those who consume the most compared to those who eat the least.

Al-Shaheeb stated on his X platform account that the risk rises with greater intake, and notably, replacing just one daily serving of red meat with poultry, fish, or legumes can nearly halve this risk.

He added that a US study confirmed red and processed meats increase the risk of chronic kidney disease, while legumes, nuts, and low-fat dairy products reduce it.
