Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission to host closing ceremony for fifth 'Literary Partner' initiative

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission is preparing to host the closing ceremony for the fifth edition of the 'Literary Partner' initiative (2025–2026) on Friday evening, July 24, at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh. The event will bring together leading writers, intellectuals, initiative partners, and representatives from cultural and media organizations for an evening celebrating cultural achievements and highlighting the initiative’s impact on promoting literature in society.

The ceremony marks the culmination of a year rich in cultural and literary contributions, which saw significant growth and expansion in the initiative’s scope. In addition to the 'cafés' track, this edition introduced four new tracks: cultural hobbyist clubs, associations, publishing houses, and shared spaces.

Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, stated that the 'Literary Partner' initiative has become a national model showcasing successful partnerships between the commission and both the private and non-profit sectors in supporting literary activity. He noted that the fifth edition made a notable impact in increasing the presence of literature in public spaces, broadening community participation, and embedding culture as part of daily life.

The ceremony will feature a video presentation documenting the initiative’s journey, milestones, and achievements, as well as honoring partners and awarding winners with financial prizes totaling over one million riyals (SAR). The initiative aims to enhance the value of literature in individuals’ lives, make culture a way of life, strengthen the role of private and non-profit institutions in advancing the cultural sector, inspire literary and cultural production, and support the local and global reach of Saudi authors, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 goals for developing the cultural sector and boosting its societal presence.

The closing ceremony is expected to serve as a platform to celebrate achievements, share success stories, and foster connections among partners and those interested in cultural affairs, reaffirming the 'Literary Partner' initiative’s status as a leading national program for building sustainable cultural partnerships and promoting literature across the Kingdom.
