Saudi Arabia covers local needs of wheat and maintains strategic reserves

Saudi Arabia Grains Organization (SAGO) has announced Monday that they have completed the procedures for the second batch of imported wheat for the year of 2019 amounting to 620,000 tons of hard wheat.

The Organization imported the kingdom's needs of wheat from the European Union, Australia, South and North America (excluding Canada) during the period (July – September 2019) on board 10 ships.

"Thecontract for this batch comes within the framework of covering local needs andmaintaining the strategic reserves of wheat." The Governor of the OrganizationEngineer Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris said.
