The Holy Makkah Municipality has completed decorative lighting installations and aesthetic enhancements across the city’s streets and squares as part of early preparations for Ramadan 1447 AH.

The initiative aims to reflect the holy month's spiritual character and create a festive atmosphere for residents and visitors.

The works included installing more than 12,000 linear meters of illuminated curtain lighting on bridges and pedestrian overpasses, as well as 15,000 linear meters of LED lighting on lampposts along major roads and thoroughfares. The measures contribute to a cohesive and visually appealing urban landscape across the city’s transport network.

Additionally, 30 illuminated crescent sculptures were installed in public roads and squares, alongside more than 50 light sculptures in parks and walkways, enhancing the city’s aesthetic appeal and reinforcing the Ramadan ambiance.

The municipality stated that the initiative forms part of its annual efforts to present the Holy City in a manner befitting its status and to meet the expectations of pilgrims and residents during Ramadan.

The project supports the quality of life, underscores the values of hospitality, and highlights Makkah’s spiritual and visual identity during the holy month.
