Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said the Kingdom is moving forward with building a comprehensive national energy mix, including nuclear power, and is working on a program to explore uranium.

Speaking at the International Atomic Energy Agency conference, the minister added that Saudi Arabia has established itself as a reliable energy supplier and is the world's second-largest exporter of phosphate fertilizers. He noted that global demand for energy is growing rapidly.

During the same conference, the minister announced that Saudi Arabia has discovered 110 million tons of ore containing uranium concentrations in Madinah.
