Yemeni Government: Houthi Terrorist Militia Recruited More Than 30,000 Children

The Yemeni government has accused the Iranian-backed Houthiterrorist militia of recruiting more than 30,000 children and putting them onthe battlefield. Yemen's permanent representative to the United Nations,Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, said that the Houthi militia has turned schoolsinto barracks for military purposes, and exploiting the difficult conditions inYemeni families to recruit their children and put them on the front lines.

This came in a speech delivered by Ambassador Al-Saadi atthe United Nations, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Conventionon the Rights of the Child. The Yemeni government is taking all measures torehabilitate war-affected children with the support of the King SalmanHumanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) and handing them over to theirfamilies through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
