Qatar permits drone use in designated areas, warns violators

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has announced that the use of drones is now permitted in designated areas, effective immediately, in coordination with the Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant bodies.

The ministry clarified that the approved zones for drone operation can be identified via the “Metrash” app, noting that flights are allowed during two daily periods.

The morning period runs from sunrise until 9 a.m., while the afternoon period extends from 2 p.m. until sunset.

The Ministry of Interior stressed the importance of adhering to the specified areas and times, and not operating drones outside authorized zones or for unlicensed purposes, in line with approved regulations and conditions.

The ministry confirmed that legal measures will be taken against violators in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
