Egypt condemns Israeli escalation in West Bank and Al-Aqsa raids

Egypt has condemned the ongoing Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank and the repeated incursions by settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli police, as well as the strict measures and restrictions imposed on the movement of Palestinians.

In a statement issued today, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the consequences of these practices for the situation in the Palestinian territories.

The ministry also firmly rejected statements by Israeli officials calling for expanded operations in the West Bank and undermining the Palestinian Authority.

Egypt stressed the need to halt all unilateral and escalatory actions, emphasizing the importance of respecting the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem.

Cairo reiterated its support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
