Historic agreement reached to disarm Hamas in Gaza, halt military operations

Hamas has confirmed that the disarmament agreement in the Gaza Strip aims to rescue the Palestinian people from the current deteriorating situation.

The movement stated that the agreement followed consultations with Palestinian factions to achieve a unified national stance, stressing that weapons will only be handed over if other parties also adhere to the agreement, according to Al Arabiya.

The draft agreement includes a halt to military operations, implementation of ceasefire terms, dismantling of armed militias, and a provision that their members will not be integrated into official security forces.

US President Donald Trump announced early Friday that a "historic agreement" had been reached for the "complete disarmament" of Hamas and all other armed factions in Gaza, describing it as paving the way for a new era of peace and security under his "20-Point Trump Plan."
