Yemeni leadership warns Houthi escalation worsening humanitarian crisis

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council has warned that continued Houthi escalation is expanding humanitarian needs and worsening the suffering of civilians.

Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi said the Houthi militia initiated this escalation both inside Yemen and across its borders, resulting in civilian deaths and causing fear and hunger among the Yemeni people. He added that the government will take all necessary measures to protect civilians, maintain civil peace, and safeguard the country’s vital interests, according to the Yemeni News Agency.

Al-Alimi also called on the Yemeni people to mobilize, unite behind the armed forces and security services, join their ranks through official channels, and contribute in every possible way to defending the republic and national institutions.
