Yemeni scholars condemn Houthi attack on holy sites in Mecca

The Association of Yemeni Scholars has condemned the Houthi militia's targeting of Mecca, stressing that any attack on the Two Holy Mosques is an assault on the sanctities of the Muslim nation.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed the Kingdom's condemnation and denunciation of the Houthi militia's launch of a hostile drone toward the city of Mecca on Tuesday, Rabi Al-Akhir 4, 1448 AH, corresponding to September 15, 2026.

The Kingdom affirmed that this cowardly terrorist attack on the holy city, the birthplace of the message and the site of revelation and the qibla of Muslims, is a repeat of the Houthi militia's pattern of targeting and violating sacred sites. It said the act provokes the feelings of Muslims worldwide, especially as this marks the second attempt to target Mecca, following a previous incident on July 27, 2017.
