Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated that a Palestinian state will not be established during his tenure, stressing that his government will not permit the creation of a state "controlled by Iran" in Gaza or the West Bank. His remarks came in response to statements by Mansour Abbas, leader of the United Arab List.

Netanyahu wrote in response to Abbas's comments: "As long as I am prime minister, there will not be a Palestinian state controlled by Iran—neither in Gaza nor in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). Period."

Netanyahu also criticized his political rivals, linking their positions to the formation of what he described as a left-wing coalition with the Muslim Brotherhood.

He said: "Once again, the price of forming a left-wing coalition with the Muslim Brotherhood has been revealed. These are the partners of Eisenkot, Liberman, and Trooper, who boycott Likud voters but at the same time welcome supporters of Tibi and Balad."

Netanyahu's response followed comments made earlier on Saturday by Mansour Abbas during a United Arab List conference, in which Abbas stated that "the State of Palestine exists, and most countries in the world recognize it, except for the United States and the occupation."
