Yemeni Deputy Minister of Human Rights Nabil Abdulhafiz has warned of the consequences of violations imposed by Houthi militias on civilians in Taiz.

He told Al Arabiya FM that more than 1,300 Yemenis are at risk of kidney failure, and over 200 children in incubators at Taiz hospitals are facing death due to fuel shortages and the ongoing Houthi blockade.

He added that operating rooms and medical equipment in hospitals require electricity, which was previously supplied by the Yemeni government through generators. The lack of diesel fuel to power these generators has caused them to stop functioning.

The deputy minister continued, saying that some operating rooms have ceased operations and the situation is extremely dire, as clinics have exhausted their medical supplies. The remaining resources in Taiz cover less than 10 percent of current needs.
