US to boost military presence in Israel amid Iran tensions

The United States is preparing to send additional troops and aircraft to Israel in the coming weeks amid the possibility of escalating tensions with Iran, according to Israel's Walla news site, citing security officials.

The report noted that around 3,000 US troops are currently stationed across Israel, where they operate air defense systems and serve as pilots, support staff, and logistics personnel.

Walla added that further US forces and aircraft are expected to arrive in the coming weeks as part of preparations for a potential escalation in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military continues its own preparations for a possible new confrontation with Iran, the report said.
