Ship traffic through Strait of Hormuz drops to single digits

Preliminary vessel tracking data on Monday showed that the number of cargo ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to single digits per day at the start of the week, a significant decrease from the 10-day average of 14 ships.

According to the data, four ships left the Gulf through the strait, while 10 ships entered during the start of the week.

The figures exclude any vessels that may have crossed the Strait of Hormuz with their Automatic Identification System transponders switched off to avoid detection.
