Tigray rebels declare 'all-out war' against Ethiopian government

A senior official from the Tigray People's Liberation Front has confirmed that the group is waging an 'all-out war' against the Ethiopian government, as battles continue in the Amhara and Afar regions amid growing fears that the conflict could expand into a new, large-scale war in Ethiopia.

Tigray People's Liberation Front Deputy Chairman Emanuel Assefa said fighting is ongoing in Amhara and Afar, with the group participating alongside local factions in both regions, according to Agence France-Presse.

These developments coincide with Tigray authorities announcing control over the region's airports, which has led to the suspension of flights.

The fighting continues to spread across several areas, fueling concerns that a new, widespread war could erupt in Ethiopia.
