Turkish foreign minister calls for end to Israeli violations in Syria

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that relations between Turkey and Syria have made unprecedented progress over the past two years, noting that Ankara views Syria’s efforts to enhance regional security and stability as a positive development. He added that the international community appreciates Syria’s new leadership in stabilizing the region.

According to Al Arabiya, Fidan made the remarks during a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart, Assad Al-Shibani, in Damascus. He said the two sides discussed a potential visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Syria, adding that the visit is expected to take place very soon.

On the issue of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Turkish foreign minister described the group’s announcement of its dissolution as a "positive step," but stressed that implementing this decision on the ground is of great importance.

Fidan also stated that Israel consistently targets Syria’s stability, arguing that such policies serve the interests of terrorist groups in the region. He emphasized that Israeli violations, which he described as the biggest obstacle to Syria’s stability, must be brought to an end.
