US treasury secretary: Hormuz deal with Iran possible within days

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said the United States could reach an agreement with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as early as today, Tuesday, or tomorrow.

Speaking in a televised interview with CNBC, Besant added that a significant number of ships have been observed leaving the Strait of Hormuz even at this time.

This development follows President Donald Trump's announcement that he had called off a planned US strike against Iran to allow for negotiations and to de-escalate tensions.
