King Salman Humanitarian Center launches campaign to distribute one million mosquito nets in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has launched a large-scale campaign in Aden to distribute one million insecticide-treated mosquito nets to help prevent malaria in Yemen. The initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the World Health Organization and Yemen’s National Malaria Control Program at the Ministry of Public Health and Population.

The campaign aims to provide mosquito nets to the most vulnerable groups, especially pregnant women and children, as well as to displaced persons’ camps across all Yemeni governorates. Around two million people are expected to benefit from the project.

Yemeni Minister of Health Dr. Qasem Buhaibeh highlighted the importance of these preventive measures, stressing the role of distributing treated mosquito nets in protecting at-risk groups and those living in displacement camps. He expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, for its ongoing support of vital sectors in Yemen, particularly healthcare.

Dr. Buhaibeh added that in the coming days, the nets will be distributed to 626 camps for displaced persons in various governorates, directly contributing to the protection of residents and the reduction of disease outbreaks.

Ongoing efforts to curb disease

This project is part of Saudi Arabia’s continued relief efforts through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to limit the spread of diseases among displaced people and other vulnerable groups, and to improve preventive healthcare services in Yemen.
