Chinese de-escalation initiative aligns with Saudi approach, analyst says

Political analyst Abdulmajid Al-Jalal said that China's efforts to de-escalate tensions between the United States and Iran come amid rapidly evolving regional and international developments. He noted that some observers believe the military and economic pressures on Tehran may have contributed to its support for the Chinese initiative.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Jalal described the Chinese initiative as a positive step toward reducing tensions, adding that it aligns with Saudi Arabia's policy of de-escalation and promoting stability in the region.

He pointed out that, in his view, the Saudi approach to regional crises has received broad regional and international support, and that the Chinese initiative is part of wider efforts to encourage dialogue and calm.

Al-Jalal explained that the Chinese initiative was presented during a meeting between China's foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, as part of diplomatic efforts to contain US-Iran tensions and prevent further escalation in the region.
