Iranian media: fresh attacks target Kurdish sites near Erbil

Iranian media reported that new attacks took place this morning on Kurdish sites in the vicinity of Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

Yesterday, camps and headquarters belonging to Iranian Kurdish opposition parties near Erbil were targeted in a drone strike, according to Iraqi security sources. This is the latest in a series of attacks on these groups in recent months.

No party has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack. The targeted parties have accused Tehran, which in turn accuses these factions of using Iraqi territory as a base for activities it considers a threat to Iran’s national security.
