Political analyst Mubarak Al-Ati has confirmed that Iran and Oman are engaged in consultations under the sponsorship of the United States.

Speaking during an interview broadcast on Al-Ekhbariya channel, Al-Ati said these talks are ongoing due to the current situation in the region. He noted that a phone call between Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and US President Donald Trump helped prevent the crisis from escalating.

The analyst added that Iran typically insists on denying statements made by the US president, while such negotiations have only taken place without direct US supervision. He pointed out that the Pakistani mediator is once again preparing for direct talks between the United States and Iran.

US President Donald Trump had decided to postpone a major strike he was planning against Iran, aiming to contain the escalation and allow a return to negotiations to resolve the maritime navigation crisis in the Strait of Hormuz and the Iranian nuclear issue.
