Palestinian election commission opens nominations for 2026 legislative vote in West Bank and Gaza

The Palestinian Central Elections Commission announced on Saturday that it has opened nominations for candidate lists for the 2026 legislative elections, simultaneously in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The commission said it began receiving nomination applications at its headquarters in Al-Bireh and its office in Deir al-Balah in Gaza. The process will continue for 12 days, ending on Wednesday, October 7.

The nomination phase is one of the main stages in the timeline for the 2026 legislative elections, with the general vote scheduled for Saturday, November 28.
