King Salman Humanitarian Center launches third phase of Madad initiative in Sudan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has launched the third phase of the Madad initiative in Sudan for 2026, in a ceremony attended by Saudi Ambassador to Sudan Dr. Zaid bin Mukhlid Al-Harbi, Red Sea State Governor Lt. Gen. Mustafa Mohammed Nour, and several officials and media representatives.

As part of the initiative, 40 trucks carrying 26,240 shelter kits and 6,652 hygiene kits have set out for North Kordofan, Blue Nile, White Nile, Khartoum, and Kassala states. The aid is expected to benefit around 148,000 people, aiming to meet the basic needs of displaced and affected individuals and strengthen humanitarian response efforts.

Diverse aid and humanitarian goals

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center stated that the project aims to provide food baskets, shelter materials, humanitarian assistance, and dates, which will be distributed to needy and affected families across Sudan. More than two million people in 12 Sudanese states are expected to benefit from the initiative.

The center also noted that a total of 323 trucks have been dispatched under the Madad initiative so far, reaching one million beneficiaries in various Sudanese states.

This support is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to uphold its commitment to supporting the Sudanese people amid the current humanitarian crisis.
