The spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, Colonel Majed Al-Nazili, said that the attack by Iran-backed Houthi militants on the Al-Hadhara popular market in Al-Wazi'iyah district, Taiz province, will only strengthen the military’s resolve to eliminate the threat posed by the group.

In a statement, Colonel Al-Nazili said: "Today, Houthi terrorist militias committed a new crime against civilians by targeting the Al-Hadhara market in Al-Wazi'iyah district, Taiz, with a ballistic missile, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties, both killed and wounded. This war crime demands that those who ordered and carried it out be held accountable."

He added that this attack reflects the group’s ongoing terrorist tactics, turning their weapons on civilians whenever they suffer defeats on the frontlines or their missile launches fail.

The spokesperson renewed his call for the international community to take responsibility for these crimes, urging clear and urgent steps to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization, cut off their funding, and halt weapons supplies.

Colonel Al-Nazili stressed that such crimes will only increase the armed forces’ determination to continue efforts to eradicate the militia threat, protect the Yemeni people, and confront threats to regional security, maritime navigation, and global trade routes, through the ongoing "Operation Yemen Dawn," in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules.
