Two civilians were killed and a third injured after Houthi militia targeted an ambulance today in the Al-Awat area, west of Al-Shaqab in Saber Al-Mawadem district, southeast of Taiz province, as it was transporting a wounded person for treatment.

Local and medical sources told the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) that the Houthi militia opened heavy fire on the ambulance as it traveled along the main road in Al-Awat, resulting in the deaths of the wounded passenger and his father, and injuring a member of the medical team who was trying to assist.

The sources added that the attack was carried out from militia positions on the outskirts of the Al-Sinah area, using sniper rifles and automatic weapons. The ambulance was trapped and damaged, making it impossible to recover the victims due to ongoing gunfire, which required another medical team to arrive from the top of Jabal Saber to assist in the evacuation.

Local sources noted that this is the third attack by the Houthi militia on ambulances while performing their humanitarian duties.
