Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemns drone attack attempt on Grand Mosque

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attempted drone attack on the Grand Mosque in Makkah, calling it a heinous and treacherous act.

In a statement on his official X account, Sharif said, "The people of Pakistan are deeply saddened and distressed by this despicable act. Words cannot express the depth of pain and sorrow we feel over this unforgivable atrocity."

The prime minister praised the vigilance, courage, and exceptional professionalism of the Saudi Royal Armed Forces for their swift and heroic response.

Sharif renewed his call for all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation, noting that the region has suffered enough from conflict. He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path to peace.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia in defending its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security and sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques, describing it as a duty held dearly by every Pakistani.
