Kremlin: NATO troop deployment in Ukraine unacceptable to Russia

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that the deployment of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) military units in Ukraine is unacceptable to Russia.

According to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Peskov was commenting on statements by the so-called 'coalition of the willing' regarding plans to send military forces to Ukraine after the conflict ends. He said: "This is a highly significant issue and an extremely important topic. It is not the first time that the intention to deploy military units from NATO member states on Ukrainian territory has been discussed."

Peskov stressed the need for Russia to take measures to ensure its security, noting, "We must take action, and we must guarantee our security." He added that the West's hostile stance toward Russia continues.

The Kremlin spokesman also expressed confidence that Russia will achieve victory in its special military operation, but said the means to achieve this will depend on the current situation.
